ICFP 2020
Thu 20 - Fri 28 August 2020

ICFP 2020 is the 25th ACM SIGPLAN International Conference on Functional Programming. The conference was a virtual event during the dates of August 23-26, 2020 and all activities took place online.

The main program featured two keynotes, technical presentations for papers appearing in PACMPL Vol 4: Issue ICFP, as well as an awards session, and a special session of papers recently appearing in the Journal of Functional Programming.

The two invited speakers for 2020 were: Evan Czaplicki, covering the Elm programming language and hard lessons learned on driving adoption of new programming languages; and Audrey Tang, Haskeller and Taiwan’s Digital Minister, on how software developers can contribute to fighting the pandemic.

The videos from the keynotes and award sessions are available.

The ICFP technical program included 37 exciting papers, as well as presentations of 8 papers accepted recently to the Journal of Functional Programming. Recordings of these talks are also available on YouTube and Bilibi. Each session recording includes chapters for access to individual papers. Closed captioning is also available.

Co-located symposia and workshops took place the day before and two days immediately after the main conference. We also had ten exciting tutorials lined up during these days.

New this year: Over 360 attendees signed-up for the ICFP Mentoring Program (either to be a mentor, receive mentorship or both).
